6 months and 30,000 kilometres alone through Africa
Six months. More than 30,000 kilometers.
A man on his motorcycle – alone on a continent where distances become ideas rather than numbers.
Armin Thalhofer did something many dream of. After his marriage ended, nothing seemed to matter anymore: job, apartment, all the things he had collected over the years. So he let go. Quit. Sold almost everything. Packed his R 1200 GS Adventure. And left.
In April 2018, he rode out of Bavaria with a simple idea: ride south. Cape Town was the horizon. The road would write the story.
He crossed deserts, slept under stars, and met people who gave him water, stories, and smiles. He discovered that the world is full of kindness – and that freedom begins where plans end.
Last year, Armin already talked about his second journey – together with his son through South America – here at the BMW Motorrad Welt. Now he returns. This time with the first part of his world trip: Africa.
A story about courage, dust, loneliness and joy.
A story that changes something inside you.
